The FUTURE FEMINIST ARCHIVE is an ongoing project aimed at uncovering feminist histories and reviewing the creative possibilities of co-operative action. These are the issues: Treaty Time and These are the issues: Environment are the culmination of Alison Alder’s research where she revisited the archives of the Miners’ Women’s Auxiliary in Wollongong, for whom she made work in the early 1980s. The Auxiliary had a stellar history of activism and engagement with issues facing Australia, and indeed the world. These new works recall the campaigns of the past and continue the Auxiliary’s work as a clarion call for action on issues of importance facing society today.

Supported by the Future Feminist Archive/Contemporary Art and Feminism research project, Wollongong Art Gallery, Cross Art Projects and University of Wollongong Archives.
